Developing Biodiversity Classrooms is Conservation Volunteers Australia's current schools program. With Boral’s support, we are able to assist school communities to educate and inspire young Australians to take action for the future of their environment.
Yarra Hills Secondary College had a request from their students that they would like to get an outdoor classroom made up of outdoor picnic tables and planter boxes to grow their own food. This will allow a ‘Harvest to Table’ style program to be incorporated into the Food & Technology curriculum and provide the students to experience the importance of caring for our environment encompassing water, soil, forests, animals and for sustainable living.
If you wish to meet us at the school, please contact the Melbourne office before the project day.

Conservation Volunteers Australia is Australasia's leading conservation volunteer organisation, founded in 1982. We offer conservation programs across Australia which enable volunteers to protect, preserve and restore the Australian environment. Projects take place in urban, regional and remote areas, and include tree planting, seed collection, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, building tracks and trails, fencing, and heritage restoration. See below for details of one of our conservation projects, or search for projects near you.
