This is a remote yet remarkable part of Victoria that is very rarely visited by anyone, surrounded by Pine plantations it creates a unique feel far different from any other bush land areas.
The purpose of this project is to protect and create habitat corridors between significant conservation reserves to allow animals to move freely between them, as well as ensuring that smaller patches of Victorian bush land are protected from encroaching weed species. We will be protecting patches of remnant vegetation by removing woody weeds. This can be a physical task at times but we always encourage you to take breaks as required. We will also be mapping our progress so management organisations can see areas of high priority and better allocate funding, and also show them the power of volunteers.
This is a terrific opportunity to visit an area within Victoria’s south west that many people would never have visited and a great place to escape, if only for a day.
