In partnership with Bass Coast Landcare, our volunteer team will be planting mangrove seedlings along the foreshore at Grantville. The mangroves will help to reduce erosion causing sediment to smother seagrass beds. Improving the health of the seagrass will benefit a multitude of marine species that rely on them for cover and food including snails, crabs, fish, seahorses and octopuses. BBQ lunch provided, please bring old shoes or sandshoes for walking in mud, and a bodyboard (if you have one) for kneeling on. For further information, please contact Tamara Leitch on 0437 452 009.
