Badu Mangroves is a southern tributary of Parramatta River in Sydney Olympic park and is an important habitat area for migratory shorebirds, breeding white-bellied sea eagles and Salt Marsh. The Tidal flows, especially after large scale storm events, results in rubbish being dumped along Haslams Creek polluting this sensitive habitat. Salt Marsh communities of Homebush Bay in particular are regarded as the most important in the Sydney region because if their size and species composition. They are also valued as a waterbird habitat, especially Waterfowl Habitat.
9.30 am: Meet either at Wentworth Common car park (if driving) or at the Sydney Olympic Park Train Station, Part St. (we recommend using the train). Transport will be provided to the site from both these locations. Wentworth Common Car Park is located at Marjorie Jackson Parkway- South Side.
