The Barwon River is one of Geelong's major waterways and provides home to a number of plants and animals, incluyding platypus.

This project is located along the lovely picturesque Barwon River, from  Buckley Falls upstream to Historic  Baum Weir and beyond.  It involves weed management of a range of mainly woody weed species in the  riverside woodland environments.  The project will over time work upstream to the Ring Road and back down stream on the opposite side.

Removing weeds will allow native plants to re-colonise, stabilise the bank and improve water quality for the animals that live in the river.

We will provide transport from South Geelong, departing at 8.15am and returning around 4pm. Or if you live local you can meet on-site by prior arrangement.
