Come outdoors with Conservation Volunteers in Mt Gambier this Spring. We are holding native plant raffles at our Hawkins Biodiversity Garden projects this November. All volunteers attending will go into the draw to win some native plants from our region to plant in their own garden.
Please join us on the day and be part of our developing biodiversity gardens in Mt Gambier. Come and get your hands dirty to create a new habitat garden at the Hawkins Medical Centre. Our aim is to create a healthy, attractive garden using native plants that thrive in our local conditions. This garden habitat will be an inspirational site for raising awareness about local biodiversity and learning about local plants, birds and butterflies, some of which may be harbouring in your own garden.
Activities volunteers will be undertaking include pruning, feeding the garden, weeding and we will also conduct a survey to see what nature we have attracted to the garden since the first plantings. Come and try out volunteering with us for a day, guaranteed you will meet new people and learn something new about the environment, at the same time just being able to get out and enjoy the outdoors!
